As the director of EGA Attorneys for 21 years, Etienne has not only shaped the firm’s trajectory but has also left an indelible mark on the legal landscape.

This commitment was further exemplified by his attainment of an LLM in Estate Planning, showcasing his dedication to refining his expertise and offering unparalleled service to his clients. Liezel Schoeman-Clark
In the intricate landscape of deceased estates and trusts, there’s always a way forward, and at the helm is Liezel, our seasoned attorney. Her journey to this specialized field is marked by a profound commitment to knowledge and excellence.
Liezel’s academic voyage commenced at the esteemed University of Pretoria, where she earned her LLB degree in 2016. The culmination of her dedicated studies led to her admission as an attorney on 17 August 2017, setting the stage for a remarkable career.
A thirst for expertise fueled her continued pursuit of knowledge. She honed her skills with an Advanced Diploma in Estate and Trust Administration from the University of the Free State, followed by a Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning from the prestigious University of Stellenbosch. These qualifications further solidify her status as an expert in her field, with a well-rounded understanding of the intricacies of estate and financial matters.
Liezel is not just a practitioner but also a member of the esteemed Fiduciary Institute of Southern Africa®. This exclusive affiliation underscores her unwavering commitment to the highest standards of the fiduciary profession. It's a testament to her dedication to delivering excellence to her clients.
With an impressive eight years of experience under her belt, Liezel stands ready to tackle even the most complex deceased estate matters. Her expertise extends far beyond the realm of legal technicalities; it's a passion that fuels her desire to navigate the intricacies of this specialized field.

When Liezel is not hustling at the office, she enjoys jogging and going to the gym, spending time with her husband and loved ones and exploring the Cape Winelands.
Mariska Nowak
Mariska is an admitted attorney and conveyancer that has been specialising in conveyancing and property law since 2016.
Although becoming an attorney was always Mariska’s goal, life took a little detour and Mariska spent the majority of her younger years as a professional make up artist and devoted her time to nature conservation. Mariska decided to follow her true passion and obtained her LLB degree from the University of South Africa, Cum Laude.
Mariska was introduced to Conveyancing and property law during her articles of clerkship and immediately fell in love with this field of law. She enjoys the challenging and stimulating nature thereof as no two people, no two transactions and no two days are ever the same. To sum it up in her own words: “ I love people and I love property!”
In her free time Mariska loves spending time with her family and 3 dachshunds and persuing her other interests such as nature conservation, animals, fashion, make-up artistry and catching up with the latest news from around the world.
Mariska is passionate about people and she lives by the words of her favourite quote: “The success of every woman should be the inspiration to one another. We should raise each other up. Be courageous, be kind, be humble and above all, be compasssionate.”
Leoné Genis
Leoné is a passionate and dedicated individual with a unique blend of academic pursuits
and personal interests. Leone summarises her journey in the field of law as one that has
been one of continuous growth, exploration, and a commitment to making a meaningful
impact on people’s lives.
Leone likes to refer to herself as an eternal student. Leoné holds a Bachelor of Commerce
(BCom) in Industrial Psychology from Stellenbosch University which she obtained in 2017.
This provided Leoné with a deep understanding of human behaviour, motivation, and
organizational dynamics. Building upon this foundation, Leoné realized she was passionate
about helping people and passionate about the law and embarked on obtaining a Post
Graduate LLB from Stellenbosch University.
After completing her articles and being admitted as an attorney, Leoné’s decided to persue
her passion and specialize in Children’s Rights. Leone obtained her Master of Laws (LLM) in
International Children’s Rights at the University of Leiden in the Netherlands in August 2023.
This academic endeavour allowed her to specialize in an area that resonates deeply with her
– both on a professional and personal level. Leoné’s thesis topic, “The Right to Identity and
Search for Origins in Adoption,” is a matter very close to her heart and underscores her
commitment to exploring the fundamental rights of children and the complexities surrounding
their identities in the context of adoption.
Beyond the academic sphere, Leoné finds immense joy and solace in spending quality time
in nature with my beloved Labrador, Zara. The beach serves as their sanctuary. When she is
not at the offices, Leoné enjoys channelling her creativity through painting, a pursuit that
allows her to express herself and engage with the world on a different plane.
